Civil Commitment Ceremonies
Civil Commitment Ceremonies typically follow a wedding format, but couples have even more flexibility in their ceremony as they do not have to include the mandated legal elements required in traditional weddings.
I am very pleased with the new Marriage Equality Act and that from December 8, 2017, Australia is finally acknowledging all love.
Naming Days
A Naming or Welcome Ceremony is a secular celebration to welcome your child to the world and into your family. Naming ceremonies are increasingly popular among people seeking a non-religious way to celebrate the growth of their family. Naming Days are not just for newborns, they can be adapted to celebrate adoptions, step children or step siblings of any age.
I will work with you and your ideas on how this celebration should be.
One of my favourite sections of the Herald Sun is the section where acknowledgement is given for wedding anniversaries over 60 years. In this troubled world, I believe that any length of committed love is a reason to celebrate.
A Renewal of Vows Ceremony is an intimate ceremony in which couples choose to reaffirm their love and commitment to each other.
I will provide guidance on writing your own vows, or write them for you in close consultation with you. The process of renewing your vows should be enjoyable, meaningful and memorable.
Making your day all about you
This day is all about you, your backgrounds, your future and your now. This moment is never going to come again so you make it how you want it to look.
Personalise the ceremony
Adding family members
Family and friends can be as involved in the day as much as you like. They can be singers, ushers, or perform readings or poems.
We can work together to acknowledge significant people in the ceremony in a meaningful way.
The type of music
Generally there are three types of music required (Processional, Signing and Recessional but we can tailor this to your individual tastes and desires.
Rituals
These days ceremonies should not all look the same. Rituals from other cultures can feature in your day and we will discuss the types of rituals that could work in your ceremony.
