This will be depend on a number of elements. The time and date of the wedding, the distance to travel, and the number of guests.

Generally, though it is a smaller portion of your wedding budget. A lot more can go wrong with the service than can go wrong with a slightly uncooked wedding cake.

I need to submit a Notice of Intention to Marry no sooner than one month and no later than 18 months before the date of the wedding. 

These elements must occur during a wedding ceremony for the marriage to be legal in Australia.
1. The celebrant must introduce themselves
2. Your full names must be said in full at least once during the ceremony

3. The celebrant must say ‘TheMonitum’ from the Marriage Act (1961)

I am duly authorised by law to solemnise marriages according to law.Before you are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter. Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of two people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.

4. You must exchange legal vows as a minimum. These must be said by you, out loud and they are‘I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, John Jake Doe, take thee, Jane Jill Smith, to be my lawful wedded wife’ 
   and vice versa.
   5. Two witnesses over the age of 18 must be present and see and hear the ceremony and sign the relevant legal documentation

This depends on how detailed the ceremony is and how quickly I establish rapport and understanding of your own story. I do not put a limit on these meetings and in these days of fantastic technology we can expedite this a little if need be. 

How long is a piece of string? 30-40 minutes is about the maximum time frame if you do not have seats for all the guests.  My ceremony will be upbeat and hopefully keep all the guests entertained and enlightened. Keep in mind the weather and other mitigating circumstances such as keeping children still if they will be involved.
